What Is the Houndstooth Fabric?

You can easily tell the houndstooth fabric for its unique controls and four broken sharp shapes. This tissue has traditionally been black and white wool in the lowlands of Scotland fabric. It got its name because the model is similar to the back teeth of serrated hunting dogs. In the 1930s and 40s, the houndstooth fabrics has become very popular.

The houndstooth fabric pattern is very recognizable. Manufacturer’s two wires and two wires down interlock to give the check pattern toothed feature, usually a small print. The model is very similar to the head coverings in white and black often worn by men in the Middle East. The contrast provided cables between them, such as the traditional black and white. Looking closely at the design, you can see what looks like a four-pointed star.

While the original leg tissues rooster were in black and white, fabric designers today they have added more colors to the most interesting and compatible models with different consumer preferences.

The fabric houndstooth wool is a middleweight. Original houndstooth fabric was 100 percent wool. Sheep wool is the original material used, but now the wool comes from a variety of animals such as alpacas, llamas, angora goats and camels.
